Guess who's crawling...
Finally she gets it...not that I want her to really...I like having her as my little baby still. But, I guess she has to figure these things out eventually....right? She'll be 1 on the 10th of August and hopefully she'll walk soon after that...

Are you kidding me?
Well, we've been to the Dr. again today...this time for Taylor. She has had a bad cough for over a week now and I figured it must be something other than a virus so I scheduled an appointment. Come to find out, she has a crackle in her lungs, both of them...sounds like....Bronchitis or Pnemonia....anyone?....anyone?....REALLY!!! Good thing she seems to be handling it well. Another round of antibiotics and cough medicine for us. I know, I know...we have had our share of bad luck lately...right? I really, really hope this is the last of it because I think I might be at the end of my rope. If I can survive the next 6 or so weeks with Chris in a cast, I can survive ANYTHING!!!! UGHHHHH!!!

I Wish I was WRONG....
This is one of those times where I was just hoping I was wrong. Chris did break his wrist and it is a really bad break. Because of our lack of insurance, the Dr. is trying to set the bone back without having surgery to put pins in. Yeah, I know...really bad! Thankfully because Chris wore the wrist brace all week the fragment didn't move and displace itself. This is not an actual x-ray of his wrist but I was trying to show what happened.
Basically he broke off the corner of the larger bone on the right near the top, before the cluster of bones. I don't know how to edit pictures and stuff so this is all I've got. Wish us luck and please send good vibes our way for a quick recovery.

Now for the After Pictures...
More scruff but Jenner still knew who he was...
Ouch, my wrist hurts...
We survived!!!
The kids were so excited for Chris to be home that they pampered him all day long. They made his cereal for him...twice. Made flavored waters for him...twice. They even tried to make him pinky swear that he won't leave us for that long again. Me Too!!! All in all he had a good time but it was really roughin' it. Not to mention his wrist, I'm convinced it's broken. It was really hard for me not being able to even talk to him for a whole week...I told him it's not fair to me and the next time he goes (hopefully never) he'll have to take his own satellite with him so he can at least call and talk to us!

The before pictures of Chris' trip...
Look at that scruff...
So these are the three "before" pictures I got of Chris before his trip. He is home now and is a little hurt. Within the first hour of the trip he got bucked off of his horse and we think he broke his wrist. He was bucked off into a pile of rocks and hurt his hip, back, knee and the worst was his wrist. For the first three days of the trip he couldn't even move his fingers because he was so swollen. When the swelling went down the pain didn't subside and he just nursed it the best he could. Luckily his dad had a carpel tunnel brace that he used to entire trip to immobilize his wrist. Last night when he got home we washed the brace and he didn't have it for 2 hours and couldn't stand the pain. I think it's broke, but we'll see. We are biting the bullet and taking him in tomorrow even though we don't have insurance. Wish us luck!
Back to the trip...They had a good time and got some awesome pictures...I already posted the pictures and some info about each one. The mosquitoes were so bad that they had to walk around while they ate...and they weren't able to brush their teeth, wash their faces or anything because the mosquitoes were everywhere. They mostly ate fish which was bad for Tyler and Chris because they don't like fish. The nights were okay they said, Chris slept great thanks to a little tylenol pm and his dad and Tyler slept great after they got to Chris' stash. Every day they would wake up, have breakfast and head off to a different lake to fish for the entire day. They would get back to camp, cook fish, have a little "visit" and hit the hay. I guess there was some male bonding there but what do I know about that. I would prefer to "bond" at the spa!

TA DAAAA!
For about 5 years now I have been wanting to do something to our dining table. Or even better, get a new one...but that wasn't happening. I had this idea to paint it but knew it was way out of my ability to do so. Like I said earlier, I don't like to start projects for fear that I won't finish them or that I will screw them up. Well my friend Rachel fueled my fire and talked me into it. I am so impressed with my work and I am so glad that we did it. The table looks awesome!!! We used about 9 cans of spray paint, 2 sanding blocks and 5 coats of polyurethane...a ton of work but totally worth it! It pretty much took me all week to do it and Chris still isn't home to see it...I hope he likes it because I love it.
I also thought, Heck while I'm doing this I might as well paint the stools too...They are a color called "Oregano" and they too look really good. I still need to poly the tops of them but other than that, they're done!
Oh and by the way, No I can't help you paint your table, I'm too tired!

TAG YOU'RE IT!!!
So I've been tagged again...this time by my friend Lisa H. T. By the way, she is so funny and I loved reading her tag post. I am supposed to tell six Quirks about me, personally I can think of way more than six right now.
1. I hate the smell of sleep. What's the smell of sleep? You know, that smell in the room when you've been asleep all night and the door has been closed. When I was in college, my roomie Cassie had the worst smell of sleep...UGHHH! I just can't stand it!
2. Another smell thing...I hate the smell of dirt on my kids from the outside. I hate it when they have been playing outside and come in to like hug me or hover around me or something. EWWWW! And YES, I have a sonic sniffer...I can smell everything.
3. I hate mosquitoes...they totally give me the willies and I don't know why!
4. I am afraid to start any projects around the house for fear that I will get bored half way through and not finish them. For instance...a project I just finished took me about 5 years to get up the courage to start it. My good friend insisted we do this project this week while Chris is out of town and she just wouldn't let up...I gave in and I am so proud of my work!!! I will post the pictures of this project later.
5. I have a really hard time putting the kids to bed. I am just so exhausted by the end of the day that I feel like I just can't take it anymore. Chris always puts them to bed and he has way more patience than me...he will lay with them, tuck them in numerous time...give piggy back rides...etc...etc...
6. I don't touch raw chicken...it's gross. I will go out of my price range to buy chicken already cut up or tenders or something...no matter how broke I am that week!
6+. For some reason I don't like lunchtime. I mean, fixing lunch. I love to cook and to bake but I do not like any of it at lunch. I would rather go out and buy a taco or something. Because of this, my kids either eat at school because they are there or just have a slice of bologna and cheese. I really need to work on this one.
6++. I wish you would comment more often. I love to get comments and I love to read your posts. I really am doing this blog thing mostly for my own personal reasons, but I do love to get comments...kind of like getting really good mail, right Michelle!!!
6+++. What number am I on again?????
There you go and now I tag Shelby, Ricci, Lara, Carrie, Lisa B. and Heather. (notice I tagged those of you who don't post a whole lot.....JK, I love ya!!!)
Kung Fu Panda and a BAT...
So we went to Kung Fu Panda today in Layton at the AMC movie theatre and this is what was there visiting for the Dark Knight premiere...A Real Live Bat...Yes, that little black spot above Grady is a BAT!!! And...it's alive, much to our disbelief. We thought it was dead. His brother was "hanging out" on the ceiling of the overhang thingy at the theatre. Way cool to see up close and probably something we will never see again. Some really brave guy nudged them and they flew off....Oh....and by the way....Kung Fu Panda was sooooooo good! We laughed our little butts off!

Twilight Interview Cancelled...
So the Twilight interview with Stephanie Meyer on 101.9 The End has been cancelled due to Stephanie having too much on her plate...blah blah blah...Actually, I have a lot of respect for her for cancelling and maybe spending more time with her family.

First day of school...
Tears welling as I take this picture!
My day is finally almost over and the posting has just begun. We had an interesting day and an interesting last night. I am a little calmer now and so I will tell the tale of "The Night Before the First Day of School"....
It all started about 4 months ago when Chris decided to take a long anticipated backpacking trip with his dad, uncles and brother. They used to do this trip when they were younger and Chris hasn't been back for 23 years...yeah, he's old! Anyway, the trip takes place in the Uintah's where they hike in about 20 miles and set up a main camp and then hike each different day to a lake and fish all day...Kind of like pretending to be homeless for a week. I have taken before pictures of Chris because I heard that the guys usually lose about 15 lbs. Chris started with a full beard but we will see how much more it grows. Back to my story...the kids hate it when Chris goes on any kind of trip, even over-nighters. We went to church and then came home and it was time to take Chris to his parent's for the drop off. We were all okay until we said a prayer in the car, then I lost it. When the kids saw me, they started to get emotional, especially Grady. We packed up the truck and said good-bye and I was being so strong...until...Taylor started sobbing uncontrollably. Then Grady acted up so I thought I might as well let it all out. When we got home it was time for bath and bed because we started school the next day. Here comes the crying again. Grady has said all along that he didn't want to go to first grade and on top of missing his dad he couldn't stop crying. I went in and said a prayer with him and then Rhett started. I settled them down and went to tuck in Taylor and she started crying...in the meantime, Grady started sobbing again. Then the baby was mad at me for not holding her and she started crying....This all lasted for about an hour and then they all went to sleep. This morning went really well and we got up a dressed for school in record time. They seemed to have a really good day and they were excited to tell me all about it when they got home. I don't need to explain how I felt when they got home...I was delighted as can be!!! Anyways, sorry for the long post but I was feeling it tonight and needed to tell my tale.
Grady in Mrs. Pectol's class
Rhett in Mrs. Bill's class
Taylor in Mrs. Neyt's class
I'm a Wreck
So school started today...what's that you say...school??? Yes SCHOOL! You know, the day when all three of my older kids will be gone the entire day...All Day...EVERYDAY!!! I am freaking out right now. Jenner is asleep and I am a wreck...I have no one here! I have never felt so alone in my entire life...if only it was time to pick up the kids...1:15 can't come soon enough! The thoughts that are going through my head right now are just down right ridiculous...I am all alone!!!! I usually long for those moments when I can be all alone...you know, in the bathroom, the....well I guess that's it...the bathroom. But now that I am alone I am TRIPPIN!!! What am I going to do with this new found aloneness...(I didn't forget Jenner, she's just asleep right now) hopefully I will find something to do with Jenner or something or something....or something...AHHHHHHHHHHHH! Oh, the mail's here...gotta go!

Roy Swimming Pool...
My favorite picture of my little fishies...
I think I gave birth to a bunch of fish babies...my kids love to swim. They are so good at it too. In fact, they all learned how to swim in the same week this summer, without any lessons. Even Jenner loves the water. She even tries to pry my hands off of her so she can go out on her own. She did this very thing 3 times this day and got a good drink of swim water, gross. We had a great time at the pool that day and I came home yet again a little sunburned, but I do love a good tan!

Macaroni Salad...
Summertime Macaroni Salad...
I've been meaning to post this recipe for awhile but my summer got away from me real fast. To me the marking of summertime is when we make macaroni salad for the first time. Nobody makes it quite like Aunt Sally, and it is definitely a favorite for Chris and I. I hope you like it as much as we do. It is especially good with some grilled chicken and some potatoe chips. Yum!
Macaroni Salad:
The amount of noodles and vegi's is equal. Make as much as you want or as little as you want. We usually make a whole bag of noodles and then chop as many vegi's as we need.
Small macaroni noodles, boiled and cooled
Vegi's diced small:
4-5 ribs Celery
4-5 Roma tomatoes
1-2 Cucumber, peeled and seeded
8-10 Radishes
2-4 Green onions
Aunt Sally also adds avacado, but I leave it out.
The dressing is just Miracle Whip, easy as that. We like our's a little more on the "wet" side so I dump in the Miracle Whip. Salt and Pepper to taste before serving. Like I said, this is a summer favorite at our house so we have it alot. It keeps well in the fridge too.

Twilight and Shark Week...
All of you Twilight and Shark week fans, boy do I have some news for you. Well, sort of. First of all, Shark week starts July 27, 2008 on Discovery Channel. Second, Stephanie Meyer is going to be interviewed by Parker on 101.9 The End. The date is still up in the air...it's either July 28 or 29. I went to their website but got nothing on it. Parker's show is on from 3:00 to 7:00pm. If I hear it on the Radio again, I'll post it. Or if you know anything about it...let us all know!
Oh, and also...Brangelina had their babies. A boy, Knox, and a girl, Vivienne. Just thought you'd want to know.

Cousin Gabby and Jenner...
Yum Yum Yum...Thank you Cousin Amy!
The other day we were at my Mother in laws house to visit with Chris' aunt Sally and cousin Tami. Tami is visiting from California and we wanted to see them while she is here. Her little girl Gabby is 9 months old and so cute. She is so funny too. She was so excited to see Jenner that she just kept laughing and smiling the whole time. I took it upon myself to make sure that Gabby got her first lollipop from me. You probably already know how much Jenner loves her lollipops and in fact, we are doing a lollipop themed 1st birthday for her. Got any ideas, let me know! Anyways, I got some really cut pictures of the two of them. They are both really little for their age and so full of personality. Gabby is already doing the army crawl while Jenner has only perfected sitting up. She is getting close and can get "around" on her bum, but no crawling yet. But, Rhett and Grady were both really late crawlers and walkers so I am not worried. In fact, I love that she is still my little baby and wants me to hold her all of the time. I know, I know...she's very SPOILED, but what am I to do...she's my baby!

Jenner...
Have I told you how much my little Jenner loves the granola bars I posted about earlier? She absolutely loves them. Notice the crumbs on her face, the highchair tray and all over her clothes. When I changed her tonight, she had crumbs in her neck, a little chocolate in her ear, inbetween her onesie and her dress and even a nice little crumb in her belly button. Cute little baby!
