I'm a Klutz...

It's no secret that I am klutz...a really big klutz. Usually it involves me falling "up" the stairs, falling out of the car, tripping over nothing and falling down...and usually I don't mind my klutziness because I have just become accustomed to it. I do mind however, when I am a klutz and it directly affects one of my kids...take for instance me holding a newborn Rhett and falling "up" the concrete stairs at our old house, only to hit Rhett's little head on the cement...OUCH! That one hurt...me...not him...emotionally not physically. Then theres Taylor, the cute little blondie that dislocated her elbow twice, I say twice and what was on the other end of the elbow...none other than mine own hand...either helping her up the bed or taking her up the stairs. That one hurt too...both of us! Grady escaped his toddler years without me scarring him emotionally with my klutziness and so has Jenner...I thought I had gotten my problem under control...until this morning. What do you get when you cross a small child's face with a too long toe nail...see below. Ouch!!! In my defense...Oh let's face, there is no defense...I am a KLUTZ!!!

Amy, you aren't the only one; I'm a major klutz too. My klutziness doesn't usually hurt others, just myself, or adds a lot of extra clean up to my workload. One day last week, I dropped 5 different containers of things on my floor (everything from Gatorade to yogurt- fun cleaning). I guess we can't all be super coordinated and smooth. Jenner doesn't look too bad, it's just you that's hurt.

Sorry to tell you that you are not alone and most of these things have happened to everyone (they just won't admit it). Haley's elbow has been dislocated several times--it's called nursemaid elbow and it is really common in girls. You are lucky it only happened twice. The doctor showed me how to pop it back in-not a fun thing to do!

That's so funny. It's makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one who hurts my children. When Cade was two weeks old I was clipping his finger nails for the first time and clipped his thumb.
