This is how I feel about Diet Coke...it should be a saint and given as a gift to the heavens...but, I have realized that for some time now I need to quit. Today I only had one diet coke, a feat in and of itself...and I feel fine. I will try this new adventure and it can be done because I have done it before...we'll see how well I do this time. Wish me luck and if you have any suggestions for kicking the habit, please let me know.

My Diet Coke saga...
This is how I feel about Diet Coke...it should be a saint and given as a gift to the heavens...but, I have realized that for some time now I need to quit. Today I only had one diet coke, a feat in and of itself...and I feel fine. I will try this new adventure and it can be done because I have done it before...we'll see how well I do this time. Wish me luck and if you have any suggestions for kicking the habit, please let me know.

Oh my gosh! Seriously crazy that you're going through this right now, because I am too! I don't like caffeine being in control of me and I'm really dependent on it. It makes me sick a lot too, but I keep downing it. And I really think it's soooo not helping me lose weight, which I'm desperately needing to do. So I've started on a no-pop mission and it's so hard! I was doing so good for about 4 days and then had a diet coke with my Cafe Rio, dang it. So I'm starting over again. It's so good to know I'm not alone in my suffering! Keep me posted on how you're doing. Maybe knowing that you know I'm trying to quit will help me be stronger...
I will drink enough for the both of us!
I quit a few years ago and it was HARD (I sound like a drug addict or whatever), but I think what you're doing is the key. Don't stop buying it all together, just buy one 12 pack and put the date on it with a sharpie. If you drink 2 in one day, that means you don't get one the next day :) I gradually went to one every other day, etc. and it worked.
You can't quit cold because your body is used to the caffine. So let yourself let go slowly, and enjoy every last drop as you go :)
Funny thing is now it's not even a temptation. There are other drinks I like better now.
I don't know if this is a good move or not, dear, Amy. If you love it and it is your only vice...come on! Or maybe that is my guilty self talkin'.... :) Good Luck!
